That magazine is a British and popular newspaper whose pages are in a small-size format : a tabloid. It was lauched in 1903 and sells about 2 millions copies everyday. The article is about a person who won the Pop Idol despit that her apparence. The Pop Idol is a British TV series wich aim to find new singer stars : the ''pop idol''. Every week, candidates are selected by phone by the viewers, and eliminate the others, until the finalist singer, who become the winner of the serie.
Michelle McManus isn't a typical star, in fact, she weights 15 stones ( 1 stone = 6,35 kg) therefore her apparence isn't like most the most of the contemporary celebrities. However, she won the Pop idol : 10, 5 million people voted for her during the three-hour final watched by 12,1 million.The article show the way she was critisized and how she hited back. I think Michelle McManus is a person worthy of respect. She made a long way to become what she became. I appreciate how she hited back to all the critics she received. Michelle McManus didn't loose hope when everybody said she wasn't going to win. She just follow goes on and did win. I admire her.To have a new celebrity wich isn't like all the other, can be a bad things. Let's face the truth : Success is based more on image than talent.
